It's also worth noting that Wallowa Lake (as you know) was created by ice, and if there was 0 ppm of atmospheric CO2, most of the planet would still be FROZEN. That primary greenhouse effect is caused by a "trace gas" that's very effective at retaining heat over LONG periods of time. Water vapor cycles in and out and can't maintain constant temperatures, yet deniers persist with the water vapor angle over and over again.

For many decades, the primary greenhouse effect wasn't disputed as CO2-caused, but the ability of Man to raise CO2 levels from 280 ppm to the current 415 ppm is now considered trivial by "skeptics" who are motivated by things beyond evidence. These same people are usually fine with science when it develops diesel compression, horizontal drilling, life-saving medicines, computers, etc. They just cherry-pick what to believe, based on emotions or greed.

Having said that, I hope your area doesn't get overrun by ineffective, ugly wind turbines invading from the north. Those are hardly green. The east moraine is a place they'd try to put them if it was windy enough. That's one thing Trump is right about.

I will comment no further here.

"Ok we all see your working hard to be jerk about this and can not think past your list of talking points handed on down to you. You really need to look into the issues your talking about a little deeper beyond your comfort zone, you may just learn something about how your getting fed some very incorrect information on many points.
Go ahead and play your little high school go with the crowd game elsewhere, its not going to work here at all you have had your chance here and now its time to stop."

You've got reality flipped upside down; classic Dunning-Kruger effect. Again, I refer to to Alex Jones, a nutcase posing as a deep thinking rebel, like Glenn Beck's chalkboard, or the resurgence in Flat-Earthers. Truly objective thinkers stay miles away from those people.

It takes no real effort to invent conspiracy theories, e.g. "Why do you kick your dog when nobody's looking?" All you have to do is pose a question and let it fester in the paranoid hive mind.

Use this site daily! Along with the app! It's a great service to Wallowa Co. And thews of us that live here really do appreciate you and the service you provide at no cost to us, along with no financial help from any government agency. My family finds the news on this site to be great!!! Not only is there the Portland main stream news, but a great variety of other well researched groups!! Thank you and keep up the great work. No matter what some may say...👍😁

Amazing how I could guess that someone who'd list Alex ("Sandy Hook never happened") Jones' site would also be irrational about a triatomic molecule that traps heat by vibration (plant growth is an entirely separate phenomenon). Well, Dunning and Kruger are usually right.

I'm guessing you also side with some locals who thought it was a "waste of money" for the EPA to remove those potentially toxic barrels in Wallowa Lake. After all, who gives a blank about clean water, air, etc? Just take it all for granted like good gub'mint-hating rubes who can do no wrong themselves.

I hope most people in the area aren't that thick. It's certainly nice country.

Pretty obvious you have zero idea as to the past history on the lake and the very logical reason for what was found in it. See this is one point where the news feds you not the whole story all of the time. I do think its great it was properly investigated and action taken to confirm whats going on. Past work I have done taught me local knowledge should never be fully discounted yet the liberal way of thinking is someone that's never been on the ground needs to make the call to protect yourself from yourself.

Back off from trashing a service I provide to help the area out. You want to point it at me only then take it elsewhere or go take a swim in the lake in January to cool off some.

P.S. To be trusted, a weather site needs to be apolitical. This includes the tendency of some meteorologists to mix religious/anti-regulation ideology with the laws of physics as they pertain to CO2 molecules.

WXB Saturday, July 13, 2019 06:32 AM
Sorry the site/station will not conform to your far left rules of providing a service, wake up nut case not everyone wants to be a lemming like you.

1. Its a private weather station with various bits of extra info from many sources.
2. If you think you can do better with your socialistic control everyone though process with your own weather station then do so. PS its a lot of work beyond sipping fancy coffee and mashing a keyboard like a left leaning parrot.
3. Grass and Trees love CO2, plenty of data out shows that sky is falling political climate change thing is just that a total manufactured sham just to get power over people. Better start looking at capping off them volcanoes first.
4. Your not going to shout me out or down.
5. This is a warning do not be an ass and harass here or by email!

I like the site except for the right-wing "news" links at the bottom. At least ditch InfoWars, which disrespected mass shooting victims. Breitbart is only better in that it's less outright nutty.

Very nice site, I check it out almost every day. My Father introduced us to Wallowa County in the early 1960's and personally worked VERY HARD and tirelessly, to successfully expand the Eagle Cap Wilderness, taking us to many Congressional hearings to testify. I was wondering if the information is available to plot on your precipitation line graph, - the 100 year average rainfall - possibly in red like your bar graph. You show this year and last year, but I was wondering about average. I keep trying to extrapolate that info from the bar graph.... I do not know how you keep up all the info flow as it is , but thought I would ask. Thanks

WXB Saturday, June 29, 2019 06:43 AM
Stephen, Thank you for the great bit of very cool history.
The Average precipitation is from past records for the area with this stations data factored in after 2001. The past data was entered into the software in 2001 when the station started running the advanced software called Weather Display. I also would like to see the average line on that graph. I added that graph recently and have found that the average line will not show when I select it. I am planning on getting that worked out with the software developer.

This is my favorite place in the world. I would live there if I could. I used to come out there every chance I got. Then I'd go up past Zumwalt, or Hat Point or where ever my fancy took me. :)

You do a disservice to you Country by promoting demagoguery, half truths and out right lies. People are unfortunately influenced by these 'news' outlets that are clearly profit making 'entertainment' venues. Misinformation does not serve the Country we live in. Encouraging people to think and debate based on facts is fundamental to a Democracy. As our Rights are lost --- you along with others will be culpable.

WXB Thursday, April 18, 2019 06:39 AM
Sorry to see your so upset to see news services that do not coddle you with only what they want you to see in your safe space. The news services you feel are so bad for this country are actually strongly for an open debate, our rights, the constitution, and freedom of the press if you took the time and looked for yourself. Your overlooking the massive misinformation the main stream media outlets are very guilty of, o but that's ok as it fits your thought process. Get over it, if you can not clearly see the big media outlets (for profit) are not reporting truthfully you need to wake up. In your ranting moment here you have forgotten the pledge of allegiance, This country is a republic.
