Low Power Ham Radio Station (QRP)
My QRP Station is a Yaesu FT-817nd 5 watts max and a 300 foot end fed wire antenna at about 25 feet high.
For VHF/UHF The station uses a 7/8 db gain vertical antenna at about 35 feet.
The station is used for general voice contacts, Olivia, PSK31, Skywarn, ARES, Winlink, APRS & daily weather reporting.
It can also go portable or mobile with battery and solar power with deployable antennas.

The A index = LOW is GOOD.
1 to 6 is BEST
7 to 9 is OK
11 or more is BAD

K index: LOW is GOOD.
0 or 1 is BEST
2 is OK
3 or more is BAD
5 is VERY VERY BAD
|
SFI index: HIGH is GOOD.
70 NOT GOOD
80 GOOD
90 BETTER
100+ BEST
|
A low "A index" is most important!
